In the past, we've tried to upload what we could to the conference site
ourselves as we had access to whatever machine was hosting that year's
conference site. (the old LAD site when it was under Joern's control, and
the linuxaudio.org when ico gave us the password.)
This year we had a request to burn bandwidth for Citizen Media who
donated the gigabit link for the streaming. In hindsight it would
perhaps have been better to have a pointer from somewhere at
linuxaudio.org to the icecast server's storage space so we wouldn't have
to re-advertise the location. But, I failed to coordinate that. Bob, the
KHM netgod, has agreed to setup a redirect or proxy so that the
lac2008.khm.de resolves or points to the linuxaudio.org file store. So,
it turns out to not be a big issue.

I am in almost complete agreement with almost everything here. When I am
home and have slept sufficiently, I'll respond again.
If you could start a pull from lac2008.khm.de of the .ogv's to the new
events dir, that would be great. But, please put under a rough_cuts/
subdir as I will be doing edited higher quality encodings that should
become the canonical versions once they're finished. N.B. there are some
DV backup files up there at the moment, so be sure not to pull those by
accident if you haven't the disk space/bandwidth.
Thanks,
Eric Rz.
