[specimen] does specimen autoconnect to jack?

Hi

It seems specimen automatically connect to jack, is that so?

If so, I'm surprised I didn't notice this before, and I think we should 
change this NOW! I could probably do a patch, but I'm wondering if 
there's any sense, since patches doesn't seem to make it into svn :-(
